River Day School Mission Statement: River Day School provides an inclusive educational environment that helps students become lifelong learners. Our students are inquisitive and confident builders of their future.
Together, we strive to be a community of learners where all members care about one another in an environment of cooperation, with respect for diversity and individual differences.
We have been learning about the Antarctic region. We are writing and drawing about what we have learned. Penguins are a popular subject.
For the kindergartners, I will be sending home books from A-Z. I would like for your child to read it at home and then return it to school to read with me. The sense of accomplishment the feel as they read keeps the desire for reading alive. Plus, I love the excitement and light in their eyes when they are proud of themselves.
One of our crafts next week is making a penguin. Please have your child bring an empty plastic water bottle by Monday. Aren’t you glad it is not made of sugar?
Our First Graders have begun taking Spelling Tests!
Lunch on Friday will be chicken strips, fries, and corn on the cob. Our class does not need to bring anything.
Our Adventure is going to the Davenport Hotel for a tour and scavenger hunt! We will leave about 12:45.
We do not have plan for next week yet. :}

We are excited to announce that next year we are going to be in a new facility. We would like to show you the building and the share in the excitement of the new place. There are renovations being done now, but we would like your help and input to determine when and how we should make the move. The children have visited the new facility but they are welcome to join us. Address you ask? 1627 E Trent
